Lee Jeffries coloca nas suas imagens a essência, a alma das pessoas que fotografa. A delicadeza recriada numa só imagem é quase insuportável de tão bela que é. Impressiona como se podem conseguir contrastes tão puros, tão perfeitos, tão limite. Um preto e branco que esconde uma parte do mundo e deixa apenas expressar-se aquilo que é importante. Lee Jeffries (Manchester, UK) é contabilista de profissão, a fotografia é o seu hobby, do qual se orgulha por assim não ter de prestar contas profissionalmente pelas fotografias que faz. Começou por fotografar desporto, mas um encontro acidental com uma rapariga a viver na rua acabou por mudar o seu foco de interesse, e o modo como vê o mundo. Numa entrevista dada à Impose diz-nos,
"I don't know if any book or movie represents my point of view but I'm certainly influenced by them. Being self-taught, my instruction in photography comes from paintings, watching movies and documentaries depicting the world around me, in particular the human condition, seeing what other people have done, opening my eyes; If one person looks at any of my images and feels compassion, enough to maybe offer a helping hand the next time the opportunity presents itself, then the image counts."

“I try to make an effort to keep clean and tidy” she said. “I use the facilities that the Christian organizations offer us, but seeing you, how clean you are makes me realize just how damn hard this is”
“I come from a rich family. I can’t go back there….but its hell out here for a woman” she went on to exclaim.
She broke down as she described what hell meant. Of course you can probably guess what she told me. Nobody wants to hear it. I can’t bring myself to type it."
